Damage Contol and Bulldozing
New London, Connecticut is attempting damage control resulting from public outrage at the recent Supreme Court decision. But here's a snippet from their website:
“The most notable result of these efforts is the recent completion of Pfizer, Inc.'s $300 million dollar Global Research and Development Headquarters on the City's waterfront. This is what New London is all about.” -- from the New London, Connecticut website, today.

New London is DEFINITELY all about Pfizer... Not a very nice or safe place to live, eh? I hope this town has a better plan for damage control than this.
As of right now, I've heard others say "I'll spend my vacation, get a plane ticket and chain myself to that home. That's not right!" And, "It would take the military to remove me from my home under circumstances like that. It'd be Waco again. "
I hope the public realizes this isn't something intangible and theoretical... as posted already on JU, it's hitting too near my home -- South Texas. I'm sure it's been stated myriad times, but "urban renewal" and the like only targets minorities, the elderly, and the poor. Sometimes though, you don't have to be any of the above -- you just have to have a pretty view.
