The things that make me laugh, weep, and live.
Fun at an Amusement Park

Yesterday I took about 50 youth from our church to Six Flags. I'm the intern this summer so I do all the paperwork type stuff and still get to be a sponsor! Our youth ministers are brother and sister. And they come from a family of practical jokers.

As John & Susan would walk past people, Susan would fake the most realist sneeze you can ever imagine. John would spray a fine mist from a water bottle at the same time and then say something about how gross she is sneezing on that person. The kids were all riding rides. The adults were entertaining people in a common square. Everytime someone would have it done to them, they'd laugh when they realized it was a water bottle and then want to wait around and see them get someone else. I think we got someone from every group at the park.

A security guard just held his arms out and walked straight toward the restroom. They showed him the water bottle and he laughed and said, "I was thinking, geez, that woman has a set of lungs on her!" He asked us to get the security guard coming up behind him in a few minutes. We got the park operators. They would watch us get others and try to set us up on other operators. Cleaning people would clean just in our area to watch the expressions. After he showed them the water bottle, everyone would laugh and it was amazing how many people were watching us do it. And it never got old. One man said loudly, "She spit on me!" Another guy nearly flipped out and then ran circles when we showed him the water squirter. These same people would set us up for stings on people they knew later.

And. We were waiting on the second ride we would ride that day and a pigeon crapped down my back. Susan screams -- I know she's for real and not just playing -- and John starts screaming "someone give me a camera!" Everytime kids would see me, they'd ask to see my back. A lady in line told me it was good luck. I'm thinking wow... bad luck as a sign for good luck. Who'd have known.

The sponsors (us) took water guns so we could squirt our kids when we saw them. That never got old either. They'd squeal and say, "No!"

Oh yeah. We rode some rides, also. That's always fun.

I recall seeing the same gag on some television show. I think it was candid camera or something. It was hilarious.

Sounds like you had a great time.
